Dean Krommydas is a composer whose work bridges multimedia and classical composition, creating music that is both structurally precise and emotionally resonant. His work spans a wide range of mediums and has been featured internationally through film, television, advertising, digital platforms, premier library licensing, and performance.
He collaborates with well-respected producers, including Zennor Alexander (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky UK, EastWest Sounds) and Israel Tanenbaum (platinum- and gold-record producer), and was consulted by Don Williams, president of Sonic Scores, during the early development of Overture 5 sequencing and notation software.
He has scored films including Many Times Over, American Savage, and the Forever Home series, also handling sound design across these and other multimedia projects. His work has garnered international recognition, including a No. 1 charting instrumental, Of Times Gone By, on SoundClick.com, and a Top Ten placement at the Berlin International Film Scoring Competition.
Based in the woodlands of central Connecticut, Dean crafts music with human nuance, free from generative AI. He also creates classical works for piano, chamber ensembles, and orchestra, and offers arranging, audio engineering, and production services for composers and artists. He works closely with clients and partners to ensure music is aligned with their vision, needs, and creative intent.
Primarily self-taught, he began playing piano by ear at seven. He was later accepted into the Boston Conservatory and has received private instruction in piano, theory, composition, and orchestration, mainly under Tanya Schwartzman (Novosibirsk, Russia) and Dr. Igor Iwanek (MIT & BU). His faith, curiosity, and autodidactic approach continue to shape the depth, originality, and expressive power of his music.
